American League Power Rankings Stuck
Posted on June 14, 2012 at 06:45 AM.

1. New York Yankees (37-25)
With a +46 run differential and a six game winning streak, the Yankees are the hottest team in the American League and playing the best all around baseball right now.

2. Texas Rangers (36-26)
The Rangers lead all of Baseball with a +80 run differential. They’ve won 3 straight and 6 of their last 10.

3. Tampa Bay Rays (35-27)
They are surviving the loss of Evan Longoria and remain in the thick of the AL East. The pitching staff is leading the way with AL best 3.51 ERA and 493 strikeouts.

4. Baltimore Orioles (36-26)
The Orioles are still just one game behind the Yankees for the East lead. Injuries are beginning to mount, but O’s relievers have an AL high 14 wins and a leading 2.40 ERA.

5. Chicago White Sox (34-28)
Robin Ventura’s steady presence, Adam Dunn’s resurgence, and a rotation that is 6 WAR have propelled the Sox into AL Central lead.

6. Los Angeles Angels (34-30)
The rotation leads the league in ERA and Albert Pujols is giving hope. The Trout kid is pretty good too.

7. Cleveland Indians (32-29)
They’ve slumped of late and Derek Lowe is beginning to show that a strikeout rate of 3.0 doesn’t allow for long term success.

8. Toronto Blue Jays (31-32)
Brandon Morrow is out. Kyle Drabek is heading to the DL too. The Blue Jays are in trouble.

9. Detroit Tigers (29-33)
They’ll eventually get it together. Justin Verlander will carry them at some point.

10. Boston Red Sox (31-32)
They are surviving without Carl Crawford and Jacoby Ellsbury. 2nd in the league in runs scored, the Red Sox will need to trade for a pitcher.

11. Seattle Mariners (27-36)
Hey, they threw the 10th combined no-hitter in MLB history.

12. Oakland A’s (27-35)
Josh Reddick is the league’s biggest surprise. That’s about it in Oakland.

13. Minnesota Twins (25-35)
Best news is that Justin Morneau is healthy.

14. Kansas City Royals (25-34)
The league’s most disappointing team has lost its best starter--Felipe Paulino--but, Mike Moustakas is showing his promise.

Living in Detroit I can say that frustration is starting to climb with the fans. I'm not a huge fan, but a bunch of people are already writing them off. Obviously players win the game not fans, but I think having a huge fan base cheer for you helps you better if there is one. Tigers better figure something out, and fast
